Dolores Hidalgo and Wineries Tour

Talavera on the Dolores Hidalgo Wine Tour

San Miguel is surrounded by magic towns, and one of the most significant is Dolores Hidalgo. The town is named after Father Hidalgo who taught the townspeople the art of talavera and uttered El Grito– The call that began the Mexican War of Independence against the Spanish in 1810. Shop for talavera, walk through the plaza and taste uniquely flavored ice cream (mezcal, anyone?) and have time to explore the mercado and museums.

Next, we will visit the oldest winery in the state of Guanajuato known for its wines and architectural design. Last, we will visit one of the youngest wineries in the state. Each person will get to taste 2 full glasses of wine at each winery. Food is not included, but we do have time to eat at either of the wineries.
