Vines and Villages
Gourmet Wine and Food Adventures in Europe
Exploring the gastronomy of Europe through food and wine adventures

During our slow season in Mexico, we are taking you on adventures to our favorite wine regions in Europe!
We prefer fruit-forward, medium-bodied wines, and the regions we have selected are renowned for their specialties: Tempranillo (Spain), Grenache (France), and Barbera/Dolcetto (Italy). These regions are sorely underrepresented in the wine tourism industry. Yes, you could take a day trip, but we are diving deep into these wine regions, so you can understand how the climate and terroir affect the grapes, why the winemakers use certain techniques, and how the food, wine, and culture are intertwined.
These regions also offer great value, which is something sorely missing in wine these days. You might say Barolo isn’t cheap, but $50 for D.O.C.G. Barolo (normale) is a lot better than $75 for an average bottle of Champagne.
We’ve also chosen these regions because the local towns are a big part of the experience. You’ll stay in a town with a variety of cafes, bakeries, bars, and restaurants to sample in the evenings. Our tours involve less driving and more time learning about the region, the excellent growers, and the historic villages that crown the hills of the region.
