Queretaro Wine Weekends

Stay in the heart of Queretaro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with almost 500 years of written history. Explore the plazas and twisting streets full of character, history and beautiful colonial architecture. Choose from regional cuisine or high-end restaurants for your dining pleasure in the evenings. This 4-night itinerary highlights the best of Queretaro, plus gives you free time to do things on your own with a local’s suggestions.

Day 1: Arrive in Queretaro

Arrive at the the Queretaro International Airport. Transportation from the QRO airport to Centro can be arranged. Check into your boutique hotel which will be near walking streets, plazas, and fantastic choices in restaurants. Enjoy the evening in Queretaro on your own. We can help you with dinner reservations.

Day 2: The Pueblo Magico of Bernal and Two Wineries

Visit Bernal, a pueblo magico of 2500 people, marvel at the third largest monolith in the world which sits behind the town, and enjoy two spectacular wineries.

There are supposedly more 90+ year old people per capita in Bernal than any place else on earth and the worlds third largest monolith rises 1410 feet above the town. Bernal is supposedly an energy vortex site like Sedona, Arizona. Bernal is know for its semi-precious stones mined nearby (fire opals), for goats milk caramel candies, cheese filled pastries and their world famous blue corn gorditas with chicharron crumbled in the dough. We will feast on gorditas for a late breakfast. There are many artisanal products made and sold in Bernal and just about everything costs under $20 USD.

Then we are off to two terrific wineries for fantastic wine tastings and views. Enjoy the evening in Centro on your own.

Day 3: Cheese tastings and Tequisquiapan

Cheese tasting at 2 cheese producers. One producer studied goat cheese making in France, and the other specialized in sheep and cow cheese where you can sample the cheeses with wine or beer. We’ll exploe the Pueblo Magico of Tequisquiapan and have time to shop for artisanal products around the plaza and in the mercado.

Day 4: Choose One: Wine and Beer or Free Day in San Miguel de Allende

Today we give you the option of another award-winning winery and craft beer brewery or a full day in San Miguel de Allende. Enjoy wine-tasting at one of our favorite wineries and a beer flight at the craft beer brewery Cerveceria Hercules.

Or spend the day shopping at the artisan mercado in San Miguel de Allende and browsing the many galleries.

Day 5: Leave Queretaro or Stay Longer!

Check out of your hotel at your leisure. Schedule your flight for later in the day to enjoy the morning in Queretaro.
