Dolores Hidalgo Wine Tour

San Miguel is surrounded by magic towns, and one of the most significant is Dolores Hidalgo. The town is named after Father Hidalgo who taught the townspeople the art of talavera and uttered El Grito– The call that began the Mexican War of Independence against the Spanish in 1810. Shop for talavera, walk through the plaza and taste uniquely flavored ice cream (mezcal, anyone?) and have time to explore the mercado and museums.

Next, the oldest winery in the state of Guanajuato known for its wines and architectural design. Here you can taste wines of your choice and nibble on a shared appetizer. Last, we will visit one of the youngest and most modern wineries in the state. Sample some of the wines and and enjoy a shared appetizer before returning to San Miguel in plenty of time to watch the sunset.
